As with any physical activity, consult your doctor before trying Tree Yoga if you have health concerns. If you are using the Tree Yoga Multi-Sling, please use it properly - it’s incredibly well designed, and strong enough to hold a car, so it shouldn’t be a problem for any human who uses it purposefully. However, the weight bearing effects of gravity and torque intensify the experience of doing yoga poses in the TYMS, so you want to start slowly and see where your strength is before going into deep, passive stretches.
Follow the instructions for attaching your TYMS properly to the Tree, and use only as directed for TreeYoga exercises:
1.Find a tree that is sturdy and strong enough to hold your weight. If you can shake it and it moves a lot, it is NOT a great choice.
2.Loop the blue sling around the trunk or limb of a Tree, and pull the padded red slings back through the loop to secure and tighten your TYMS. Do not attempt to tie a knot in the TYMS.
3.We recommend several hours of practice on the ground, and a practice buddy, before getting up in a Tree with your TYMS.
4.Check your TYMS for any signs of damage or wear and tear prior to use.
Keep the slings on your hips or around your ribs - it’s too much pressure on the internal organs if the slings are around your waist. The slings should always be around bone. Keep your hands on the slings until you are confident and have the core strength to come out of the deeper stretches safely, and be prepared to make lots of adjustments as you find the most comfortable and efficient “seat” for your TYMS.
This is not a toy for unsupervised children; please don’t leave yours hanging where a kid could get at it.
Look around this and our partner websites for pictures, videos, instructions and information to help you make the most of your TreeYoga practice.
You are responsible for not harming yourself in any physical practice. Treeyogajournal.com and TreeYoga are not liable for any injury you may incur while using Trees or TreeYoga Multi-Slings (TYMS) in any way, and we recommend you consult a doctor before beginning any new physical activity, playing with a friend, and consulting a professional yoga instructor or personal trainer for your safest personal practice.
Play safe, and enjoy a lifetime of pleasure with your Tree Yoga Multi-Slings (TYMS).

It is not necessary to climb up in a Tree to enjoy a multitude of fun and beneficial TreeYoga postures. Most postures are performed on the ground (terra firma) or trunk of the Tree. The information provided below will help you explore the poses with confidence.
